Touch Football is for puffs. Full Contact, Tackle Football, baby. But really though, molestation is not okay. Unless you like it ;) This was a piece for my Illustration III class. He told us to incorporate 'Sex, Sports, Religion' into the piece is some way shape or form. The sex is obvious, then the sports is the Football player and the locker room, and the religion is that it's a catholic college, St. Johns. Nothing against St. Johns, I chose the name randomly.

Thing is, I don't think St. John's U HAS a fooball team, They are known as the Red Flash, and have a rather decent basketball team...

So I fav'd this a looong time ago, and just a moment ago I was looking through my fav's and came back to this and then I was like 'ew why did i like this again?' BUT then my stream of consciousness went like so: 'wait why do I dislike it?' 'I fav'd it for a reason' 'Is it because of questionable content?' 'Is it because I don't like how her body is positioned?' 'Who am I to not like something?' 'Am I just following dubious societal norms?' 'i think so! Is my brain conditioned to fit in with society?' 'Probably.' 'Ugh stereotypes and generalization based on historical prejudices suck' 'lol am i in college writing class again?' 'f preconceived notions i like this!' tl;dr rediscovering old favorites is fun!

This could reconcile me to american art ! Really luv the modern feel, like a Norman Rockwell meets James Jean ^^ Cool! I also see color calibration in the anime fashion (my codes maybe, hun ;) ). Those after effects gradients tints in the "blood the last vampire" days.
Anyway, it works very nice.
The scene looks real, I mean, attitude are very well rendered, light is spot on and composition and lines are very elegant. Must have been really good to draw... Also I feel real life characteres in the faces.
Also, final looks strong, a bit "fat" and "bold" style. (in the good way hun ;) ).

Congrats!

very nice. is there any chance you incorporated the structure of the football player's had into something religious? the positioning of his hand just reminds me of how the catholics cross themselves. just curious.

great job with this. there's so much movement and feeling. very heated and i feel like they're losing themselves in this moment. organic feel and you've done what (i assume) you intended to do while trying to portray what you were seeing in your mind.
